Dental implants are the most modern, natural, and long lasting way to replace missing teeth. Made of surgical grade titanium, they are placed in the jawbone and serve as "artificial roots". An implant can be used to support a new tooth, or multiple implants can be used to support bridgework or stabilize full or partial dentures. The results of implant tooth replacement therapy are new teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. Properly placed implants combined with good hygiene and regular dental check-ups, can last a lifetime.

Implants are not a great option for everyone. Medical history, gum health and bone structure must be evaluated. We use state of the art cone beam volumetric tomography to assess bone volume and density to ensure proper and safe placement of implants.

Dr. Whitson received his dental implant training at Southern Illinois University, School of Dental Medicine, where he completed a two year implant fellowship in 1999 - 2000. Dr. Whitson has successfully placed and restored well over one thousnad implants over the last 20 years.
